In a city where 3.7 billion has been invested over the last 4 years, Liverpool City Council’s Regeneration Directorate is at the heart of co-ordinating development and investment opportunities whilst providing a range of key statutory and non-statutory services.  Its Development and Strategy Teams co-ordinate the delivery of approximately 120 major physical regeneration schemes in which the Council is directly involved to attract investment, create jobs and new homes; lead on the building of 6,500 new homes and bringing 3,000 properties back into use; and the rebuilding of 12 new schools and refurbishment of others in a £169 million programme to complete in September 2017.  In addition, its Highways and Transportation officers implement the Local Transport Plan and facilitate other transport strategies and improvements to the city’s streets and strategic corridors.
